What works

everything. the game installs, and runs normally. i'm at assassination number 5 now, and the game runs good apart from some glitches 'll mention below. a no cd crack is needed.

What does not

the game with the original executable. directX 10 mode doesnt work. all of the kingdom level has no ground. to be more precise, the ground is there, just not drawn, nvisible, i can see miles of mountains and stuff right through the ground... looks weird, and can be tiring to navigate through it. but the ground around and in cities are perfectly fine, just the kingdom is affected. other than that, everything in the game works.

Additional Comments

nice game, tried it with wine a couple of yars ago, was unplayable, i'm glad to see this huge progress. the FPS is of course slower than on Windows not sure by how much, but it can be noticed, though it's still very very playable and enjoyable. one thing that can sometimes improve speed, is look at Altair from above, this gives a smaller area for the computer to draw, improves FPS hugely, and makes sword fights much faster and fun. computer specs: Intel Pentium IV 3.0 GHz (with HT) 1.5 GiB RAM DDR2 nVidia GeForce 8500 GT, with 1 GiB of memory Wine compiled from git lots of DirctX

HowTo / Notes

Performance tweaks

1.) You can improve game performance with this registry settings:

[Software\\Wine\\Direct3D]
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"
"VideoMemorySize"="896"

Set VideoMemorySize to correct amount of RAM for your graphics card.

2.)Run the game with WINEDEBUG=-all command (note: if you want to submit bug and post error logs, make sure you are NOT using this command)

3.)Make sure you have latest official drivers installed for you graphics card.

HOWTO

The game can be installed and patched. To make the game start up with wine you need to add d3dx9_36.dll to .wine/system32

There is easy way to fix the mouse problem, just add this registry key:

[Software\\Wine\\DirectInput]
"MouseWarpOverride"="force"

You will have to use keyboard in menu with this settings, but in game mouse is working without any bugs.
