What works

Playing the game in DX9 mode works very well at the highest detail settings, and high resolution (1920x1080). Nothing in the game seems unplayably broken.

What does not

DX10 mode, and during the opening scene it is particularly hard to see anything, as the lighting is incredibly over-bright. After that, overbright lighting is no longer an issue.

Additional Comments

It does tend to get a bit slow when you are running around in the open (~20 fps), but it is not a constant issue. The lighting is also notably broken (i.e. background lighting overlaps foregrounds elements). My system specs: AMD Phenom II X2 CPU @ 3.65ghz Nvidia GTS 250 PCI-e, 512MB GDDR3 vram 2x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM

HowTo / Notes

Performance tweaks

1.) You can improve game performance with this registry settings:

[Software\\Wine\\Direct3D]
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"
"VideoMemorySize"="896"

Set VideoMemorySize to correct amount of RAM for your graphics card.

2.)Run the game with WINEDEBUG=-all command (note: if you want to submit bug and post error logs, make sure you are NOT using this command)

3.)Make sure you have latest official drivers installed for you graphics card.

HOWTO

The game can be installed and patched. To make the game start up with wine you need to add d3dx9_36.dll to .wine/system32

There is easy way to fix the mouse problem, just add this registry key:

[Software\\Wine\\DirectInput]
"MouseWarpOverride"="force"

You will have to use keyboard in menu with this settings, but in game mouse is working without any bugs.
