µTorrent 1.x - old, unsupported version. Not recommended.
all normal operations on the torrent jobs work
the webui works flawlessly (see extra comments)
updating works (see extra comments)
the program in short is very wine friendly :-)
What does not
file association with utorrent doesn't work (see comments for workaround)
automatic file association , and the start up option
boss key, don't let utorrent start with the -HIDDEN parameter!
What was not tested
to get the webui to work you need to download it from http://download.utorrent.com/beta/webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar and you will need to have unrar installed wget http://download.utorrent.com/beta/webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar sudo apt-get install unrar unrar e webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar mv -v webui.zip $HOME/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/$USER/Application\ Data/uTorrent/webui.zip and now you can enable utorrent's webui from options a workaround for not being able to associate torrent files with utorrent, is to go to the options of utorrent, the directories tab, and check "automatically load .torrents from" and browse to some directory you created from now on, put your torrents in this directory and utorrent automatically loads them. updating works, but after the update you will get the install dialogue, if utorrent was already installed, just uncheck the 3 shortcut checkboxes, and click install, and utorrent should load normally. UTORRENT RULES!

If/When you get this error:
It seems like uTorrent is already running, but not responding. Please close all uTorrent processes and try again.
you could simply kill all the utorrent processes with:
killall -9 uTorrent.exe
Then just open utorrent, not the installer.
You can also open µtorrent with '/NOINSTALL' parameter but then you can't change any settings (if I understood right). E.g.:
C:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /NOINSTALL
It seems that with the new version of Wine Web UI is supported and the RSS features where tested. This is great news as that elevates utorrent to Platinum status on AppDB. Of course more test results are always welcome as it got platinum on 64 bit ubuntu only so far. See Aaron Poley's 64bit 7.10 submission at:
