GoldMine 6.7 is the last release of GoldMine to use the Borland Database Engine (BDE) Future versions use either Firebird or MSSQL as its data storage system.
Licenses are available in either Standard (BDE Only) or Corporate (SQL/BDE)
Note: GoldMine 6.x is no longer available or supported by FrontRange Solutions.
General application functionality. Scheduling, emailing, contact adding/editing/deleting.
What does not
Installation. Fails near end of process with a file copy error.
What was not tested
GoldMine Integration to other apps, ie Word, Excel, Outlook.
MDAC 2.5 or above is required as is Internet Explorer for GoldMine to run properly. Despite the installation failure, the application itself runs as well as would be expected within Windows, after manually correcting the install. Note that presently, Only the BDE version (Standard Edition) of GoldMine works. Installation instructions: Install the application through wine, delete the C:\Program Files\GoldMine folder and replace with a pre-installed C:\Program Files\GoldMine folder from a working Windows Installation. The BDE files need to also be copied somewhere. I generally have them located in C:\Program Files\GoldMine\BDE. The First run of GM will ask you where these files are located. Browse to the location you have stored the BDE and the application should then run fine. No Winecfg or Registry changes required.
