What works
Everything except the installation.
What does not
The installation works at first but when it's finishing it says "WinExec of Setup32.exe failed", and then "DdeConnect returned 0" over and over. The console reads:
"fixme:ddeml:DdeAccessData16 expect trouble
err:ddeml:DdeAccessData Failed on GlobalLock((nil))"

What was not tested

Additional Comments
The above error results on a corrupted installation and the only solution is to install the DOS version of the game which works on DosBox. But that version shows the video in 256 color mode and not 16 bits as the Windows version. The solution is to convert that install to the Windows version, but it's complicated to explain and also there are versions of the game which only include the Windows install. So I've made a very simple patch which you can download here: http://la-aventura.net/baja/parches/PhantasWine.tar.gz This will: * Copy the file msvcrt40.dll to the System32 folder in Wine. * Make a directory called SIERRA/P2DOS on the C drive in Wine. * Copy the contents of the tar file in that folder. * And copy the file ressci.pat from the game's CD to the game's folder in Wine. This file wasn't included on the patch because it's too big. Once it's done, all you have to do is open winecfg and give the file msvcrt40.dll native support, otherwise the game will crash.
