HowTo / Notes

HOWTO: Getting started

The game runs out of the box, but rather slowly unless you either

a) Configure Wine for OpenGL-accelerated Directdraw

or (if the above creates other problems for you)

b) Modify the settings in the userconf.exe file that comes with the game to use gdi directly (can be rather difficult as it's all in japanese).

This screenshot gives you an idea of which settings affect performance the most; From top to bottom, change the options marked in the screenshot with a * to

/ dibsect
/ no
/ gdi
/ api
/ low

The game will crash when attempting to play videos. A workaround for this issue is to simply delete the video.xp3 file found the working directory.
