What works

• Install update from CD version 1.0 to free internet bonus pack 2.02
• SecuRom 4.68.00 in bonus pack 2.02, without crack
  
• Sound & music work (but see below).
• The left intro movie is played well, the right one does not start (looks like a wrong path).
• Both standard and bonus campaigns work (not thoroughly tested).
• load & save game

What does not

• The mouse cursor is not drawn correctly. Instead, it is surrounded by a 64x63 rectangle in which stale pointers appear (the previous pointers are never cleared). This renders the game hardly playable, as correct pointing is essential to it. The rectangle covers tooltip texts.
• Sound mixing is not perfect; random noise is audible, as when listening to the radio. Not loud, but annoying.

To avoid nasty screen flicker, I recommend to use (see tools\SegRegTrouble.exe):

and to set your preferred resolution via:

Additional Comments

Speed is excellent since wine-1.1.3. On Ubuntu Hardy, the game used to crash the machine with an on-board Intel i915 graphics controller and ALSA sound. This does not happen with Ubuntu Intrepid.
