What works

Installation. Demo runs if I set no audio in Wine settings and 640x480 resolution in game settings. Also it only shows entire screen if I select low settings (any higher will only show a portion of the screen).

What does not

Once I run the game, following the above conditions, a black bar appears at bottom.

Additional Comments

Same exact behavior has been reported with Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and 6. See bugs 9121 and 9001, both look the same. Winning Eleven 8 is the american version of Pro Evolution Soccer 4. Same goes with WE9/PES5 and PES2007/PES6. They all run with the same "engine" and have the same trouble in Wine. I STRONGLY believe that once one of these games runs well, the others will do it at the same time. You have to run settings.exe from installation folder. For some reason, the demo doesn't crash randomly as the retail game does.
