What does not

The main application TMGMAINW.EXE shows a non responsive menu when started and the wine "program error" dialog is now shown and mentions an issue with winevdm.exe closing the wine dialog still leaves a non responsive tmg that you have to force quit.

(See bugzilla#12874 re: wine: Unhandled page fault on write access)

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO (work in progress)(Updated:2014/12/07)

Wine 1.7.31 or greater only

Copy the contents of the installation CD-ROM to the directory cd01 in your wine's C Drive.

From the applications menu use "Wine > Configure Wine" on the "Applications" Settings tab change then select "Windows 3.1"  from "Windows Version:" drop down box.

Run the installer using Wine:

wine "c:\cd01\setup.exe"

When install, request the 2nd CD-ROM select no.

Apply the upgrade patch.

After installation of the main application has finished, you need to apply the upgrade patch.

Copy the upgrade patch g40_d.exe to c:\TMGW\

Run the upgrader using Wine:

wine "c:\tmgw\g40_d.exe"

Running TMG:

(Optional) Download the modified config.fpw from here and copy it to c:\tmgw  (Works around abandoned  bug 23937)

Run the following command from a Terminal

wine "c:\tmgw\tmgmainw.exe"

Enter your serial code.

At the "Squashed dialog box", you can press the left arrow key (Which selects the hidden yes button) and then enter to continue.(due to abandoned bug:24333)

The Splash screen shows and then the "Welcome..." Screen appears.

Selecting the "Data Set" tab and attempting to either create a new data set or use the sample data set, tmg becomes non responsive. (Need to file a bug?)

Use the latest version of Wine. Type 'wine --version' if you are unsure
Modified config.fpw

open the following file

and find the following line:

and change it to

MEMLIMIT = 5, 16384 ,262144
