Additional Comments
Today I tested the interface -- did not manage to get it to connect to the computer. The interface is recognized by udev as ft232bm and mapped to /dev/ttyUSB3. I made symlinks in ~/.wine/dosdevices for com0, com1, ... com5 (in WinXP the interface is mapped to com5) but searching the computer always fails with the same error as in WinXP, while the Suunto_USB driver was not installed yet: "Assertion failed: px!=0, file C:\PROJECTS\boost_1_32_0\boost\shared_ptr.hpp, line247" Installing the Suunto_USB driver in wine puts the driver files in the right place (for WinXP) but wine does not use them (could I expect that it would do so?). A copy of D9.mdb from a WinXP install gave me all the downloaded data. I can do everything with them, bu tI can not connect to the dive-computer. So I change my rating to "Bronze" Sorry that I put all that here, I'm not able to post a new bug report. I get always the message that the selected bug number does not exist -- of course, I left it empty and clicked "Submit a new bug link".
