Additional Comments

The windows version has to be set to Vista, or else the copy protection will prevent the game from running. On my x86_64 system I had to use "setarch i386 -X wine SamMax205.exe" to start the game. I installed internet explorer through Wine-Doors in order to use the launcher. IEs4linux no longer seems to work with Sam and Max in wine 0.9.59. After activating, the launcher claims to be running an "evaluation copy" of the game. I was unable to find any difference from the normal game, though.

HowTo / Notes

Fix for WINE >= 1.11
Due to a regression in wine (or rather wine-gecko) the activation will fail. Use the patching script here: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10820&highlight=linux Alternatively, if you switch wine versions you can use an older version to activate.
