Additional Comments

Running the game with highest settings on my Nvidia GT 140 reached an FPS between 25 and 35. By lowering some settings FPS could be increased to >50. However, the following settings did not work or could not be activated: * Force Motion Blur * Anti Aliasing (AA) AA can be done via the settings utility of my graphics card. Motion Blur did not work, even with PC3 shader enabled. It's a pity because Motion Blur *really* enhances graphics quality during game play (as could be proved on Windows Vista). Here are some comments to multi player online games: When starting a new race on an online game server the game freezes a lot for a couple of seconds up to a minute sometimes. After that the screen unfreezes and game play is as smooth as in solo player mode. I noticed that those freezes happen whenever the game downloads data from the internet (such as game mods and car skins) which I found when looking at my network traffic when the game freezes. As soon as downloads stop the game unfreezes and everything works fine until a new race starts which requires to download large quantities of data (like game mods). I also noticed that on servers with high ping times (>200ms) the game play starts to become choppy when opponents cars are rendered. Disabling opponents solves this problem and the game runs flawlessly again. It seems that TCP/IP communications block everything else in the game which then gives the impression that the game freezes or hangs. Can somebody confirm this on his/her machine?
