What works

* Installation -> a error could display in message box, but it's not problem because setup is complete. * MPLAB IDE -> IDE runs without problems. -> Compiling with HI-TECH C Compiler suite. (v9.70) -> Compilation with MPLAB ASM Suite.

What does not

To open a project by double clicking on a file. "mcp" {MPLAB must be opened first and from there open the project}

-> I solely tested the PIC16F877A, the programs operate very well. I almost tested all modules of this PIC. -> I used the PICKIT2 through command line on linux with the utility -> pk2cmdv1-20Linux2-6. ***************************************************************** IMPORTANT:: the installation is done from wine clean. Only was installed gecko. Nothing winetricks or manual shifting. ***************************************************************** MPLAB IDE v 8.53 License Lite

HowTo / Notes

The newest version is built on Netbeans (Java) so a Linux native version was released too. Now there's practically no reason to use these legacy versions in Wine. (Thanks, Microchip developers!)
