Install works as long as you do not do hardware tests. this program was designed for far slower machines that would run anywhere from 20MHZ up to 400MHZ, so the hardware testing functions should be avoided since they time-out far too soon. You can install the program but avoid doing CDrom, Sound and CPU tests since any computer running faster than 400MHz is likey far faster than what the setup tests can handle. You will want to run the setup program located in the CDrom root directory. for example, if Wine has your CDrom defined as F: and you are doing this from the command line, then you would want to run: wineconsole f:setup then install. To run print artist, you should find PAWIN.EXE within the print artist directory and if you are located in the C: directory, it runs fine as: wineconsole C:/SIERRA/PACLSSIC/PAWIN.EXE
What does not
Some of the pop-up windows have the push buttons too close together, so graphically that is not quite correct. Additionally, you cannot click some of the push buttons in the pop-up windows since they get described incorrectly, for example, if you click on File->SelectDocumentType the pop-up window will ask if you want to select Sign, business Card,....Crafts, but you will not be able to select some of the right-side selections such as "Business Card" while others do succeed such as "Certificate". The pull-down menus appear to function fine and you can work on, edit and save, your graphical documents okay as well.
What was not tested
Printing was not tested.
If you need to help/maintain Print Artist 3.0 files, Wine 1.0-rc1 allows you to view and edit files.
