Installation works, out of the box.
Running the program, works out of the box.
Communication with the Alarm sentral works, with minor tweaks.
The application can only use DOS COM devices. So therefore, to make it work, you will have to make a Symbolic Link from your Serial RS232 device (or USB adapter in my case), to a virtual DOS device in Wine.
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 /home/thomas/.wine/dosdevices/com1
*Where ttyUSB0 is replaced with the Serial port you are going to use, and thomas is replaced with your username. com1 is replaced with the com number you are going to be using witihn your program.
What does not
Nothing i have discovered yet. Even thoug sometimes the program may freeze for few seconds and then come back. But this did not happen often.
What was not tested
The problem I went trough was that Wine does not map linux serial tty's with virtual dos COM devices.
