The game plays through normally in terms of event scripting, dialogue and such.
What does not
The segment where the in-game PDA crashes in the Metro car is still a significant problem, causing total loss of input control to the game.
The new slowness is still a problem, and seems to be related to audio. I will investigate further and post a bug report.
EDIT: Further investigation based on a +wave trace has led me to an audio bug which has been under investigation for several months. It is now linked to.
What was not tested
The Metro PDA crash bug can still be worked around by emulating a virtual desktop, and bringing up some sort of desktop environment dialogue box. When the mouse is within this dialogue box, the game will receive input. With some luck you can click the in-game messages this way.
