Accessing parts of the game by command line options:
Entering a test battle ("iron board") with command line option m.
Entering strategy map (some default game) with command line option M:
playing strategy part (building, producing armies, moving armies etc),resolving battles automatically, entering battles.
What does not
Entering the game normally, entering game menu.
When entering by the mentioned cli options:
Battle mode has the same bug as reported for the demo: left click can only be used to use the menus (formation, grouping etc) and trigger attack, so armies cannot be moved, rearranged etc.
Leaving battle mode crashes the game.
Leaving strategy map with ESC will try to load the menu but simply switch back to the strategy map.
Entering the throne room crashes the game.
What was not tested
Everything not mentioned, especially regular game play.
I want to give the game bronze status for two reasons: Firstly, except for the mouse bug and menu the key ingredients of the game (strategy and battle mode) work -- just unfortunately not together. Secondly, I hope this may help on the developers' side -- especially since the mouse bug can be reproduced with the demo and since the menu works in the demo. Finally, ShogunTW still offers the best story and immersion of the series -- so it's worth getting it to work! Misc: Tested version: ShogunTW Warlord Edition, french version 1.00 and 1.02. NoCD patch is required. ShogunTW works flawlessly with virtualboxed winxp.
