What works

Almost everything, see the "What does not work" section for details.

What does not

When starting the application or the first time, it performs some diagnostics to ensure the computer is capable of accelerated morphing. This is fine, but afterwards it tests image exporting, and the "correct" result is actually a black square. Provided the actual result looks ok, just click "yes".

The sliders for playback position and magnification work, but their background appears black. I wonder if the developers just made a 1 pixel wide image and repeated it horizontally across the slider's length? That might explain the long string of errors produced when resizing the window - all of them are the same:

fixme:ole:OLEPictureImpl_get_Attributes Unknown pictype 0

perhaps each instance of that error is for when it tries to put a part of the background in the slider. This affects all sliders in the application, expect the ones in the dialogs because they are not skinned.

It looks like the cursor is supposed to change when you hover over a dot, which it does, but wine still gives

fixme:ole:OleIconToCursor (0x400000,0x114e), partially implemented.

the cursor changes to an appropriate one though, so I guess that's not an error here.

When adding a caption to an image, the preview is black; it may be like that on windows, but I doubt it - it wouldn't be a very useful preview if there was no image.

The help browser is labeled as "Untitled window" and all icons in the top toolbar are printers. Only the Home button seems to work, and the search tab is completely blank. Closing the help browser sometimes causes the program to crash. Otherwise it's fine though.

Changing the skin just gives a string of error popups;

"The skin element file C:\windows\temp\FantaMorph\whatever_element.jpg is corrupted!".

I assume each popup is for an image used by the skin. Funny that they used jpeg. After clicking "OK" to each warning, the skin does change, but the images are displayed incorrectly. I think the repeating error here is

fixme:ole:OleLoadPictureEx (0xf522cc,2776,1,{00020400-0000-0000-c000-000000000046},x=0,y=0,f=0,0x32d6c0), partially implemented.

Image Browser Workaround (No longer required with 1.0-rc3)

Opening the file browser to select images for morph when using the wizard, or choosing to import an image from the Image menu crashes the application.

To get around this, just type "Z:\" (without quotes) in the file location text box - do not click browse. If you then attempt to use it as an image location (click next), the program warns you that the image is not available, and asks you if you want to locate it. If you answer yes, the file browser works correctly, starting at an existing folder rather than the application's mysterious default location.
