There is no versioning by Selftest Sofware. When you download the software from selftestsoftware.com it is called "Self Test Engine (testprep.exe)" in May 2008 it has a md5sum of ba652320317ef45fcf9099268f7ff178.
Unfortunately there is no possibility to provide the configuration of wine and the installationscripts in this AppDB.
If you are interested, please send my an email.
All features of the application and the installed sample questions work fine. I also run it on SuSE 10.3. It's not dependent on the distribution but on the wine version.
What does not
What was not tested
One need to install the MS Internet Explorer because the Solftest Software Engine requires ActiveX. See "How to"
|Operating system||Test date||Wine version||Installs?||Runs?||Used|
|Current||CentOS 5||May 26 2008||1.0-rc1||Yes||Yes||Gold||Christian|
You need an active Internet connection!
You need cabextract installed on your machine!
This script will create a WINEPREFIX in $HOME/.selftest and install the
Self Test Software.
If an iexplore window with an URL like http:///RegServer pops up
just quit it, ignore the error messages and wait a moment.
To run the program execute start.sh
If you don't run it with start.sh (through the menu or the desktop shortcut)
make sure to use WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.selftest and to run wineserver -k after you quit the program
this is needed because some processes don't get killed
when the main program quits.
The $HOME/.selftest WINEPREFIX is not really usable to install other programs
Unfortunately this software requires a native IE to be installed,
since wine's IE is not able to handle URLs w/o protocol. ( try wine iexplore google.com to reproduce it)
If it would be able to handle them install.old _should_ work too
and the "winetricks" in that file should be enough. (perhaps then even less "winetricks" would do it)
