Doom Builder

What works

• Installer (after winetricks dotnet20) 2D editing mode, configuration dialogs, nodebuildin, loading, saving.
  
  I wouldn't consider it very useable for regular mapping. If anything, its only use would be handy editing of floors to match hexagonal tiles in flats.
  

What does not

• The menu bar (File, Edit, etc) does not appear, though the items are still clickable and generate working menus when clicked.

• Many overlay/transparency features in 2D mode do not work, for example all Things appear as colored boxes and new Linedefs do not have their lengths shown during placement.

• 3D mode works but is ugly, as many transparencies are broken there too. I'd consider it unuseable for regular mapping.
  

• The installer seems to generate broken menu entries, I had to edit Doom Builder.desktop (in ~/.local/share/applications/) and change the Exec line:

• Spinning around in 3D mode stops as the underlying mouse cursor hits the edge of the screen. Enable MouseWarpOverride by creating a file called db.reg containing the following, then install it with wine regedit db.reg:

Workarounds

What was not tested

• Most features of 2D mode beyond making Sectors, inserting Things and saving maps.
• Most features of 3D mode.
• Testing in sourceports as these would require working Windows sourceports to be installed.
