What works

Installation. (see Additional Comments below for additional DLL requirements before the app will launch)

Opening and saving maps.

Everything in 2D: Move, Vertices, Lines, Sectors, and Thing mode. All browsers. All Configuration menus. Some functions, for example, curving a linedef. Nodebuilding also works with ZenNode.

3D mode seems touch and go, it only works for me in Fullscreen Mode, it only works for others in Windowed Mode.

The cursor and texture browsers would only work for me in 3D mode if I had a Thing Bounding Box visible. If you rotate away from the Thing, or turn Things off, the cursor and texture browser stop working.

What does not

Things do not appear in 3D mode, though their bounding boxes do.

Testing a map fails with a "path/file access" error, I guess it can't find a temp location to store the map for launching.

Additional Comments

You will need to download the MSVBVM5 and OLEAUT32 DLL files and unzip them into your Doom Builder directory (likely to be ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Doom Builder/). Open up Wine Configuration, and add an override for oleaut32 to be "Native then Builtin". The mouse will not rotate fully in 3D mode. To fix this, run "wine regedit" and add the key [HKCU\Software\Wine\DirectInput], inside that key place a string called "MouseWarpOverride" and set its value to "force".
