What works

I am able to at least get the initial installation window.

What does not

Initially, I got the first two included screenshots, the first window complaining about requiring Windows XP SP2 and above to install. The terminal debug messages are below.

After using winecfg to adjust the Windows version to XP, I relaunched, and I simply got a message saying that Windows Live Mail could not be installed. I've included that as the final screen shot. The terminal debug messages are below.

Additional Comments

I didn't actually start the installation via Windows Live Installer as per usual. Instead, I used the method described at http://blogs.technet.com/doxley/archive/2008/03/04/windows-live-installer-without-the-installer.aspx whereby I obtained Install_{184E7118-0295-43C4-B72C-1D54AA75AAF7}.msi from my dual boot drive.
