It install fine and finally after wine-0.9.5 when the game crashed, on wine-0.9.6 it works almost like a charm. Netplay is smooth and doesn't cause any problems. Keep in my that you have to play in OpenGL.
What does not
Direct3D crashes soon after the game starts. Also there are small problems with numpad binds while having NumLock on, so better turn it off. Gamma extension in OpenGL doesn't work, and fullscreen mode doesn't cover the whole screen(kicker in KDE is still visible). Also very rarely it seems that UT/wine stops listening to mouse and keyboard even though the game didn't hang, I had to kill UT everytime it happened.
What was not tested
*The best available renderer for UT can be get from here: http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/ *Many servers use some native code to protect against the cheaters, the anticheat is called UTDC and it needs kernel32.dll to be inside your windows/system32 - copy it from your WinXP *To boost gamma use "xgamma -gamma" command
