Exactly the same as previous report under Wine version 1.0-rc4. The program itself installs and launches perfectly. Settings are configurable. Files - once you get them loaded, which is the subject of what does not work - can be compared, viewed, navigated, edited, and saved.
What does not
Exactly the same as previous report under Wine version 1.0-rc4. Again, loading files to compare fails and crashes when trying to use the built-in dialog box. Files can be selected, but upon selecting the second file to compare, wine crashes. The command line reveals only:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x7e99a693 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Again, ExamDiff can accept files from the command line, but that's a pain. Google suggests that this problem is widespread and has persisted for a very long time; a number of suggested underlying causes float around (problems with ATI cards, only I have an Nvidia card; problems with 64-bit wine, only other programs work for me; the mmap_min_addr fix, which I tried with no effect; some sort of ongoing difficulty with wine understanding directory structures; and other hypotheses). But in any event, with a considerable amount of fiddling, I still could not get this to work.
What was not tested
The exact same problem that I had with Wine 1.0-rc4 persists in Wine 1.1.21. The program does technically work, hence its bronze rating, but getting files loaded is a pain.
