You must always run FAR with the user console backend (wineconsole --backend=user far.exe), creating a real Windows console window.
Almost everything works flawlessly! You can even run Linux processes as long as they will be run by Windows (i.e. the executable name is .exe); their standard output (if any) goes to the terminal you ran FAR from instead of the Windows console.
To take advantage of this and use this superb file manager (which is way beyond Midnight Commander), I use a script to symlink every executable from my Linux PATH into files with the same name plus .exe in a directory I place in my Wine Windows PATH, then I load FAR Manager from a Linux terminal and lay the windows out so that the terminal stays in the lower half of the screen and FAR takes the upper half.
What does not
Just the more gory Windows NT stuff. Hardlinks are not emulated (they should be!), and NTFS junctions aren't emulated (I don't expect to have them anytime soon because they are going to be much harder to emulate).
What was not tested
The hundreds of plugins there are.
