Program was tested using Mono-2.4.2.3 for Windows.

This application uses functions from GDI+ which are not yet implemented in Wine's version of the DLL. To get around this requires a native gdiplus.dll override.

To do this requires two steps:

1: Place a native (Windows) gdiplus.dll file in the Hero Designer directory. These can be obtained from any app which bundles it, or from sites like www.dll-files.com (where I got mine). Do not place this file in /system32, and definately do not replace Wine's builtin gdiplus.dll with this one. Placing it in the install directory keeps it separate from the Wine builtin files.

2: Set up the override in Wine's configuration. The instructions for this can be found here: Application Settings


NOTE: This requirement may be fixed now. MxD apparently now ships with a copy of the required DLL, and the builtin version may now incorporate the necessary features. Further testing will occur after the fatal crash bug is fixed.
