I currently have Just Cause installed on my 08 mbp 9400m core 2 duo 2.53 ghz through a clean wine prefix utilizing Engine 1.7.54 and it runs very well. I have not experienced any crashes, audio bugs or texture issues and at medium settings it runs great.
Runs fine in Single-Core mode

When I first ran Just Cause in Wine 1.6.2 everything was really slow.
I found that it has a problem with multi-core CPU's
So now I run it with a single CPU using the Terminal and taskset -c 0 playonlinux
then I launch the game
