What does not
What was not tested
Only played for four hours.
After playing the game for about three hours, I have installed the community patch "Sneaky Upgrade" version 220.127.116.11 from here: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138607 I have played for another hour with this patch. It has fixed the black squares, and seems to have improved loading times. If Garrett starts floating around, don't worry, it's not a Wine bug. From what I've read, it happens on Windows too. To get him back on his feet (pun intended), draw the bow, nock it, then press escape so you won't lose your arrow. He should be back now. Other than the mouse wrap issue, the game seems to run flawless, it's very close to a Platinum. The game was installed in a clean Wine prefix and tested on a GeForce 9500GT with proprietary drivers, version 331.67.
