What works

The main functions are usable.

What does not

Showing/exporting the musical notation. There is a workaround, though:

Open the "capella" fonts in fontforge and save it as a new font of type "TTF (Symbol)", then replace the corresponding font file with that new version. MFchi will still complain about not being able to load the font "capella.ttf", but continues to work.

Saving an RTF or DOC document (PDF is not supported, neither is ODT) would save the musical notation without notes, though, which is a pity. Albeit, what you are missing is a picture inside the resulting RTF or DOC, so it can easily be self-created using a simple screenshot.

I found this solution on the LinuxWiki.

Additional Comments

Remember to start a software synthesizer such as TiMidiTy++ or Fluidsynth prior to starting the program if your soundcard does not come with a MIDI synthesizer.
