What works

The install was again a little sticky (as with 8.10), as it did not install the isstata.100 file in the program directory; however, once manually copying it, the program worked like a champ. Tested -- autoupdates, stat script do files, graphics, exporting, various regressions.

What does not

Since "younger" versions of wine (1.0.0 and so forth) Stata allows the use of less than about 1.5 gigs of memory only (use eg. "set mem 1600m" - results in "op. sys refuses to provide memory"). It was possible to reserve more than that in versions 0.9.6. BUT: The same thing applies to running it in windows. So maybe wine is a "better" windows now. ;-) Just want to add here I have 3 gigs of FREE physical memory at that point in time!
