What works
Nothing. The game fails to launch for the first time in Steam.
First, a DX installer pops up, and fails. Then a VB.net'05 installer pops up which seems to work fine.
Upon trying to actually open the game, the WINE console prints many, many, lines like:
err:module:import_dll Library MSVCR80.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dawn of war soulstorm\\soulstorm.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization forĀ L"C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dawn of war soulstorm\\soulstorm.exe" failed, status c0000135
What does not
Everything.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Everything besides installation.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
I tried following a "Install DirectX in Wine" guide, as well as used winetricks to install vcrun2005, and then tried to install the game. The DirextX installer worked, but the game would still not open.

After you installed the game you may get a performance boost if you use the latest version of DirectX 9.
The easiest way to do so, is using winetricks:
winetricks directx9

If you have problems with completely corrupted textures the problem might be that your systems lacks a library that is used for texture compression in Dawn of War.
Under Debian based system install the package "libtxc-dxtn-s2tc0" and try again.
