Installing, loading pptx files, creating pptx files, editing, editing shapes no longer suffers from the bug in 1.5.3, cutting/pasting images between Linux apps (e.g. gimp) and powerpoint, creating PDF files works with the add-on from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7), displaying the slideshow.

Workarounds for bugs 23805 and 30587:
Solution 1: Run in an emulated virtual desktop. This is probably the easiest solution for most users.
Solution 2: Uncheck "Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg. The downside is that Powerpoint will no longer show up in the taskbar.
