What works
Installs and plays with native msvcrt.dll (obtained from winetricks vcrun cached copy of "vcredist.exe").
Tested with Intel GM965/GL960 (xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1.3). Tended to lag at 800x600 or higher resolution.
What does not
Playing with built-in msvcrt.dll aborts with error:
(Render) An invalid floating point camera matrix was passed to the D3D driver!
With native msvcrt.dl, game was playable but many 3D models were incomplete including the face of the player's character and some environment objects like wall-mounted croc heads (their glowing eyes floated in empty space).
Workarounds
What was not tested
Completion of game.
