What works
Installs using http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-msi link with the command "wine start [msi file]" on a fresh wine install.
Runs. You can log on. Lots of error windows afterward. Then crashes when contacts are loaded.

Compared to the other testers, I got a lot farther and had better luck with the MSI. I am pretty sure Skype tries to download the MSI version when the default Skype installer fails, but the URL is not loaded correctly.
