Additional Comments

As for installation - you have to use Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain 2000/XP Update ( http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweights/games/kain/index.htm ) which not only let's you install the game from the CD, but also patches it to version 1.2. The game works best with operating system set to "Windows 95" or "Windows 98", but it's also playable with "Windows XP" (with no cut-scenes though). No other winecfg modifications are needed. Of cource you can experiment with sound options (emulation for example as some people reported that with this option on the sound gets better). Also you might want to use some application to keep your CPU busy (some users reported that it was necessary for them, though I had no need for it). My specs: Acer Aspire 5720ZG - Intel Dual-Core T2310 1,46 GHz, 3 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 8400M GS 256 MB

1. Go to cubanraul's Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain 2000/XP Update site.
2. Read the description.
3. Download the fixed installer.
4. Insert your Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain CD into the drive.
5. You might need to run winecfg and set the CD-ROM drive path to indicate to the Legacy of Kain CD.
6. Run the fixed installer you've downloaded earlier.
7. Proceed through the installation process, the installer takes care of everything, including patching the game to the latest version.
8. Remove the CD from the drive after the installation.
9. Run winecfg and set the operating system to Windows 95/98 for the best performance.
• You can set it to Windows XP, the game still works fine, except for the cut-scenes, which just don't play at all.
• You can tweak some sound options, though the game was tester with ALSA and it works great.
