Ysflight is a freeware flight simulator. Graphics are outdated but nethertheless it has many details. There's also a Linux version of the game but as far as i know the newest version is always the windows one.

What works

Everything works just fine, but it seems to be a bit slow, running it in a window is recommend. For me it seems to be pretty much important to have a rather small window in order to play the game fast, so make it smaller if you experience perfomance problems. Press F8 for an another view of the plane which runs much faster.
