HowTo / Notes

Get the game running
The game works fine with a fixed executable from the Widescreen Gaming Forum.

It is available in this thread:

http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=24310 The provided executable there only works with the russian version. To get it running with any other version, do the following:

  • Run "winetricks wmp10" to get rid of the getkey.dll error
  • Copy the fixed FR2.exe from wsgf into your installation
  • Use a program like Hex Editor MX to open any .spc-file from the sounds folder
  • Look at the 13th, 14th and 15th byte of the .spc file. Copy them.
  • Open the fixed FR2.exe with Hex Editor and replace the string "71 F6 40" with the one you noted.
  • Run the game

Thanks for the submission :)

Game is fun, only the missing music is a bit annoying.

Had the same problem. Solved with "winetricks wmp10" - but it still crashes with a WMA error after that.
