Additional Comments
First of all you need a win32 prefix, in order to install Games For Windows Live. The installation DVD comes with a msi installer for this. So, first create a 32bit prefix: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winecfg Set windows version to Windows 7 after this install msxml3 by following instructions after executing: env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 winetricks msxml3 and then after downloading msxml3 and placing it in the open folder runing it again. After this, go ahead and install the game from the DVD. Navigate to the mount point of the DVD and start the installer: cd /run/media/Username/FOUC and start the installation env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 wine setup.exe If it complains about "Live initialization failed" when starting the game , do this (if You install msxml3 prior to installing the game, this shouldn't be necessary): Run the wine32 bit control panel: env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 wine control go to add/remove programs and remove Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE then navigate to the installation DVD like so: cd /run/media/Username/FOUC/redist env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 wine msiexec /i XLiveRedist01.02.0241.00.msi This should now succeed because msxml3 has been installed Then you need to go to the location where the game is installed: cd ~/.wine32/drive_c/Program Files/Empire Interactive/FlatOut Ultimate Carnage and run env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 wine launcher.exe The game should run without any issues, videos are playing, graphics are without any corruption and performance is very nice.
