I modified wine similar to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14758 and installed various DirectX audio dlls as proposed on http://forum.dtp-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?p=92846 for running the game on Windows 2000. The game starts just fine but any trees that aren't far away are shown plain white instead of properly textured.

In order to get sound working, you need to add a few dlls to wine and register them with regsvr32.

In winecfg you must choose OSS in Audio settings and remove the tick from "driver emulation".
