What works

Installation, access to menu functions and buttons.

What does not

Connection to phone. The Nokia Connection Manager and the Connection Wizard complain there's no available connections. This happens with or without phone connected. I used the same USB port I successfully connected to a Samsung phone as a mass storage device.

My test data is invalid
by Emerson Prado on Tuesday May 7th 2013, 8:37
I'm sorry. I made a mistake while installing Wine, and didn't have all dependencies sorted out before compiling Wine from source. The status I reported may well be caused by this, and not by Wine problems. I don't know how to delete or edit the test data I posted, so pls just disregard it. If a moderator can exclude that for me, I'd be glad.

USB port
by Mike Yates on Thursday February 17th 2011, 13:55
The kernel connects to my Nokia 6300 by USB as /dev/ttyACM0
I have used this with with wvdial (and other apps) to use the 6300 as an Edge modem and also with kmobile-tools to sync contacts.
Surely there is a way of linking /dev/ttyACM0 into wine as a raw USB or serial port?
Anyone know how?

Stefan D?singer has kindly suggested:-
ln -s /dev/ttyACM0 "~/.wine/dosdevices/COM1:
and this certainly delayed a crash of the "click here to connect a phone" and prevented a crash of the "Connection Manager",
presumably "fooling" the suite that there was a phone on an old serial cable, but my 6300 does not "appear", as it does on /dev/ttyACM0 with "kmobile-tools".
Installation and USB

Using latest Ubuntu-10.10 wine the installation is all visible.
No connectivity, but there IS kernel support.
Still investigating - will report more later...
nokia pc suite won't install
by Dave on Sunday September 12th 2010, 3:34
Running Wine 1.2 (latest version on ubuntu repository), trying to install nokia pc suite 7.1.51.0. I get past the license agreement (all icons are black though, but it's not hard to guess which one is "NEXT") and choosing which directory to install to (accept the default). But then it quits and I get a window that says, ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE. According to your website this has been tested and should install, so what's wrong?

I had the same problem. Upgraded the Ubuntu distribution from 9.10 to 10.04 and verified that Wine 1.2 was installed. Installation problems (black buttons and failure) are gone.

Got a new error, in Dutch it sounds like this: Details: De tekst eindigde voordat een afsluitend aanhalingsteken was gevonden voor " (de tekst was ‘env WINEPREFIX="/home/maarten/.wine" " wine C:\\Programma\ Bestanden\\Nokia\\Nokia\ PC\ Suite\ 7\\PCSuite.exe ’)

Problem solved
Normal location:
/home/maarten/.wine/drive_c/Programma Bestanden/Nokia/Nokia PC Suite 7/PCSuite.exe
Current location
/home/maarten/.wine" /drive_c/Programma Bestanden/Nokia/Nokia PC Suite 7/PCSuite.exe
(don't know what happened ...)

New command to start the application:
wine "/home/maarten/.wine\" /drive_c/Programma Bestanden/Nokia/Nokia PC Suite 7/PCSuite.exe"

Next problem: got an error while connecting to a phone ...
