Icewind Dale II is a computer role-playing game by Black Isle Studios. It is based on the famous Infinity Engine created by BioWare.

The game is set in the Forgotten Realms Icewind Dale region, but takes place decades before the events described in R. A. Salvatore's books which made the area a well-known part of Faerûn.

Icewind Dale II uses the Third Edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons.

Instalation doesn't work. It crashes with a whole host of errors, mostly errors of the following type: err:rpc:I_RpcReceive we got fault packet with status 0x80004002 err:ole:ClientIdentity_QueryMultipleInterfaces IRemUnknown_RemQueryInterface failed with error 0x80004002 err:ole:marshal_object object doesn't expose interface {be6115a1-7de5-48dc-ad2a-25060e00fce2}, failing with error 0x80004002 err:rpc:I_RpcReceive we got fault packet with status 0x80004002 err:ole:ClientIdentity_QueryMultipleInterfaces IRemUnknown_RemQueryInterface failed with error 0x80004002 err:ole:marshal_object object doesn't expose interface {be6115a1-7de5-48dc-ad2a-25060e00fce2}, failing with error 0x80004002 err:rpc:I_RpcReceive we got fault packet with status 0x80004002
