What does not
Installer fails to recognize that .NET framework 2.0 is installed. It gives the error: Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 2.0 requires at least .NET framework 2.0.
Note that this is on an otherwise clean install of WINE via Macports. The only other software installed is Direct X 9 and .NET 2.0, both via winetricks.
What was not tested
Anything past the installer, as it wouldn't let me install.
The version of Wine included in macports may not be perfect, and I'm kinda still getting used to the mac. That being said, I do have an Ubuntu box lying around and will try installing XNA on it using the latest Wine and report back my results. I also intend to see if I can find a more recent version of the 2.0 framework.

Due to a bug in wine you have to apply the following patch to get the XNA 2.0 and XNA 1.0 redistributable installer finish fine:
The XNA 3.0 redistributable doesn't need this patch and works fine
