Browsing, selecting, and loading ROMs works marvelously. Netplay is also fantastic - it works as well as it does on Windows.
What does not
All that was tested works fine; see the comments section for one warning.
What was not tested
Smoothing engines (2xSAI et al.), most full-screen video modes, extra video options (scanlines et al.)
There is one caveat with this version related to window focus. Should you change - perhaps inadvertently - to another application by clicking on it, your X server may freeze; or, at least, as much happened in my initial testing. X.org completely froze when I accidentally clicked on another application. Perhaps the "Allow DirectX apps to stop the mouse leaving their window" option in the "Graphics" tab of winecfg will resolve the issue. In any case, be sure to disable desktop effects (Compiz Fusion) if you encounter this problem; the aforementioned winecfg option may solve the issue in combination with that.
