Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit
AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core Processor 1.8 GHz
Nvidia GeForce 7500LE (512 MB) with latest drivers
Everything works exceptionally well. I get better framerates and the game runs smoother on wine than when I was running it on Windows.
What I did:
Installed winetricks from the Wine PPA:
Just follow the instructions on how to add the ppa repository and then run "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install winetricks"
Then I ran winetricks and selected:
And then in winecfg, make sure you select either Windows 2000 or 2003 for the operating system.
Nothing else really needs to be done since it works right out of the box.
If you have problems with the game not running well in fullscreen at higher resolutions or it tearing your desktop apart or have a blank screen, this script helps fix that:http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9341154&postcount=13
What does not
The only bug I've found so far, was the annoying fact that quicksaves cause the game to crash. Don't know what's actually causing it, but if someone has any advice or knows what bug it is, feel free to post it.
What was not tested
Nothing; no one plays multiplayer anymore, but it does work.
