What works

The installer starts, performs a system-check, you can enter your license-key and start installing Lexware but fails with the message "Fehler bei Selbstregistrierung".

What does not

Almost everything as the installer fails with the message "Fehler bei Selbstregistrierung: Die folgenden Dateien wurden nicht selbstregistriert bzw. ihre Registrierung wurde nicht aufgehoben" (translation: "The following files were not self-registered resp. their registration was not dismissed") See bug #15376 Tested single-system installation ("Einzelplatzinstallation") as well as Windows Server installation.

Everything except for the installer.
Unchecked installation of Lexware Online Banking.

For starting the installer various libraries need to be installed. I did that using winetricks 20081012: winetricks msxml3 jet40 mdac28 dotnet20 winxp

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO install Lexware

Lexware does currently not run with wine, but with the following instructions you can at least partly install it (using wine >= 1.1.6):

Download winetricks (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks)
Execute: winetricks msxml3 jet40 mdac28 dotnet20 winxp (This installs MS-XML 3, Jet 4.0, MDAC 2.8, .Net 2.0 and sets windows version to xp)
Run the installer. If it complains about missing MDAC, run winetricks mdac28 again!
