(Works in Ubuntu 8.04)
To get the game working:
(I did this on a clean installation of Wine, since I hadn't installed anything else)
(It is IMPORTANT to do it in this order, otherwise it fail for some reason)
1. Installed vcrun2008 with "sh winetricks"
2. Installed vcrun2005 + vcrun2005sp1 with "sh winetricks"
3. Downloaded these dlls and put them in "C:\Windows\System32\"
xinput1_3.dll and d3dx9_38.dll
4. Applied a crack
(Pure.exe & fmodex.dll)
Performance settings:
I have a fairly good computer but something that you should disable when you've started the game is post-processing, it makes the game unplayable, and UGLY. I had no problem playing on High quality with a 1024x768 resolution after that. Oh, and I didn't see the driver of the bike, so a few graphical glitches because it's kind of hard to play this game if you can't see the stunts you're performing.
My specs:
AMD X2 4200+
7900GT/OC 256ddr3
2gb pc6400
Something to think about
SCREENSHOTS: Don't worry about the "blackline" that appears, it's my graphic card that's been like that for sometime, so no software error.
DRIVER INVISIBILITY: It seems as the cause of the driver to not appear is graphical drivers. PURE developer says you need v178.13 (XP/Vista) which does not exist yet for Linux as far as I know. So it might just be a matter of time before the driver appears. ;)
