What works

Everything, as far as I can tell, under wine 1.1.5

It does NOT work under crossover office at the moment.

It also *requires* winetricks.

Here's what I did:

1. Installed Wine 1.1.5 from winehq.com.

2. Installed the SX-590 software as per their instructions:
     wine /media/cdrom/SX-590 Utility/DavidUtilities.exe
     wine /media/cdrom/SX-590 Utility/SX590David.exe
(the first is an Installer, the second is a rather clumsy updater,
      consisting of a self-extracting exe)

3. Created a symlink in the dos_devices directory from
     com1  ->   /dev/ttyS0      (my serial port)

4. Installed some windows compatibility stuff with winetricks:
     winetricks vcrun6 corefonts vb6run jet40
(this is required, or we get runtime errors)

5. Ran the program:
     wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Geller/David/Sx590/SX590.exe

What does not

It's a bit unstable.

The GUI is ugly, and button-highlighting is wrong.

Multiple fixmes and stubs in wine (which don't seem to do any harm, but make the console output look frightening!)

Workarounds

What was not tested

Downloading the sales data. I haven't yet got the product key for that feature.
