Paint Shop Pro

What works

Just installed it, so far everything is working

I'm in web development and I always did prefer to use Paint Shop pro to Photoshop, so am thrilled to be able to use it on my Ubuntu installation... Installation was easy. I downloaded the pspsetup.exe file, opened my terminal, typed win /home/myname/mydownloadfilefolder/pspsetup.exe and it installed right away, no errors at all.

Then to launch it I just had to click on the psp.exe icon in the /home/myname/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 7/ folder.
It loaded up perfectly (a slight 5-10 sec freeze upon first loading, but that's it)

I ended up dragging the psp.exe icon down to my taskbar so that I can just launch it with a quick click there... works great!! :D:D:D

Ok - the problem isn't with PSP or wine, the problem is with the xorg.conf file. There's a configuration in there for Wacom drawing tablets, which is what's causing the "input device not found" error. (the "err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)" message can be ignored.)

To fix in ubuntu:

in a terminal, type

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

(don't just click on the text editor and open from the GUI, as you'll only have read-only rights to the file.)

Once inside the file, put a '#' in front of the following:

InputDevice "stylus" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "cursor" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "eraser" "SendCoreEvents"

Then do the same thing with the following entries:
