What does not
CD access for security - German Patch available - fronschweine.zip
searching frontschweine (with a t, unlike the filename) should turn up some help.
Patching must be run from the directory Hogs is installed in.
Map graphics and weapons are dubious, but this does not stop game play (doesn't even impede it). In single player everything was fine - in multiplayer the map adds health drops and crates flashing up randomly (consistent fast flicker) the objects were not in the game. Doesn't stop play, just annoying. Colours of weapons are all red, but still usable.
What was not tested
Hardware Accel. Vertex shaders
The setup so far is tested with Vertex Shader Support hardware accel turned off under winecfg, artificial desktop set to 640x480 (800x600 also works) and Windows version set to Win95. After installing the German Patch the language can be set back to English - E (or language of choice) under regedit, just search for Hogs until the bits are found. Language only seems to set start up screen not game (which seems to be set in the .ini file). Rated down as silver due to the false mapping information, but I'd say it's a pip away from being Gold. I'm as happy as a pig in muck ;)
