Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)
The program installation works smoothly, although I also ran "winetricks ie7", "winetricks msls31", and "winetricks riched30" before the program actually worked. Without ie7 the program would not work at all, so it seems that at least some version of internet explorer is necessary for the program to run.
Once the program is working, almost all its features seem to work as they did in Windows. This includes:
- Viewing card lists
- Studying card lists (in each of the 3 phases)
- Most of the keyboard shortcuts
- Sounds, pictures
- Installing new lists using the list installers from byki.com
- Remembering your progress between uses of the program.
What does not
Every time you type a single character of input into the program, the console outputs the message
"fixme:keyboard:X11DRV_MapVirtualKeyEx keyboard layout (nil) is not supported"
although it is still possible to type correctly (at least in English and Slovak) using the english alphabet and the up and down arrow keys. Typing in special characters by having a special keyboard layout in Ubuntu does not work.
A few of the keyboard shortcuts don't work (most notably, after typing in an answer and pressing "enter", pressing "enter" a second time does not send you to the next question).
Also, there is no place for the application on the unity menu or when you scroll through the currently running applications using "Alt-Tab".
What was not tested
Whether the program was usable in languages (like Japanese, Chinese, and Korean) with alphabets more foreign to the English alphabet.
